Auditions Policy:

  1. Auditions will be advertised widely.
  2. Those wishing to have an audition are to book a time for an audition within the scheduled times by phoning 3893 4321 or emailing the auditions@savoyards.com.au or in person at the Information Night.
  3. Parts will in the first part, be filled from those who choose to audition and who have pre-booked an audition. Should there be no suitable auditionees for a part, other people may be contacted after all other auditions have been completed.
  4. Suitable auditionees should be determined by the director, musical director, choreographer or their deputies in conjunction with a member of the Savoyards Committee or a person appointed by the Committee.
  5. Savoyards values new people, ideas and talents. We also recognise the need to support long-term members of the company. Where two people are suitable for a given part, preference should be given to the auditionee with a previous record of commitment to Savoyards.
  6. Understudies are not used in Savoyards productions. If a production team wishes to use understudies, they must seek the consent of the Savoyards Management Committee.
  7. All cast must attend 100% of the performances. If a cast member still wishes to be in the production, they must firstly seek the approval of the Production Team. The Production Team must then seek the consent of the Savoyards Management Committee.
  8. As a courtesy to fellow members and the production team, cast members are asked to notify the Executive Producer and Director of any absences from rehearsal. Subject to each Director’s wish, it is a general rule that only three rehearsals can be missed.
