AUDITION OPPORTUNITY - MARCH (BRISBANE)
DO YOU REMEMBER WHERE YOU WERE DURING THE SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS?
IMAGINE BEING ON A PLANE.
Savoyards presents COME FROM AWAY this June-July at the Iona Performing Arts Centre.
COME FROM AWAY tells the remarkable true story of 7000 people who were in the air when the twin towers were hit and the small community that cared for them for days afterwards. Stirring Music and Lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein create the town of Gander in Newfoundland where 38 planes were ordered to land on September 11, 2001. With the population doubled overnight at a time of global shock, grief and fear, the local community showed the visitors compassion, understanding and a good time at the local pub. COME FROM AWAY will make you laugh and cry, and remind you of all that’s good in the world.
